1 1/4 Cups | Sifted Cake Flour (with all purpose flour use 1 Tablespoon less, increase baking powder 1/2 Teaspoon) |
3/4 Cup | Sugar |
2 Teaspoons | Baking Powder (2 1/2 Teaspoons Tartrate) |
1/2 Teaspoon | Salt |
1 Teaspoon | Lemon Rind |
1 Teaspoon | Vanilla |
1/3 Cup | Spry |
1/2 Cup | Milk |
1 | Egg |
Instructions
- Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into mixing bowl.
- Drop in Spry and lemon rind.
- Add milk and vanilla and beat 150 strokes.
- Scrape bowl and spoon while mixing.
- Add egg and beat 150 strokes.
- Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 25-35 minutes.
- Let cake to cool and make Lemon Cake Icing
- Ice Cake
