MeasurementsIngredients
1 1/4 CupsSifted Cake Flour (with all purpose flour use 1 Tablespoon less, increase baking powder 1/2 Teaspoon)
3/4 CupSugar
2 TeaspoonsBaking Powder (2 1/2 Teaspoons Tartrate)
1/2 TeaspoonSalt
1 TeaspoonLemon Rind
1 TeaspoonVanilla
1/3 CupSpry
1/2 CupMilk
1Egg

Instructions

  1. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into mixing bowl.
  2. Drop in Spry and lemon rind.
  3. Add milk and vanilla and beat 150 strokes.
  4. Scrape bowl and spoon while mixing.
  5. Add egg and beat 150 strokes.
  6. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 25-35 minutes.
  7. Let cake to cool and make Lemon Cake Icing
  8. Ice Cake
