Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir in flour until smooth.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth and thickened.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Stir in cheese, salt, and pepper until cheese is melted.
  7. Grease a baking dish
  8. Layer thinly sliced potatoes in the dish.
  9. Pour cheese sauce over potatoes, and ensure that potatoes are evenly coated.
  10. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
  11. Bake for 1 hour, or until the potatoes are tender.
