3 TablespoonCornstarch
1 CupSugar
2 TablespoonGrated Lemon Rind
1/4 CupLemon Juice
1/4 CupMargarine
2 CupsWater
1/4 TeaspoonSalt

Instructions

  1. Combine cornstarch, sugar, lemon peel, and salt in a 1-quart saucepan.
  2. Add water slowly.
  3. Stir over medium heat until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat, add lemon juice and margarine.

Note

Makes 3 cups. Serve on plain cake, gingerbread, and fruit cobbler.
