2 lbs | Round Steak |
As needed | Flour |
2 cups | Sliced Onion |
To taste | Salt |
To taste | Pepper |
4 tbsp | Butter or Fat |
1 cup | Water |
1 cup | Sour Cream |
Instructions
- Pound steak well, dredge with flour, and cut into pieces about 3 inches square.
- Simmer onions in butter or fat until golden but not brown.
- Remove onions and, in the same fat, brown the meat.
- When well browned, sprinkle with flour, salt, and pepper. Turn and repeat on the other side.
- Add onions, water, and sour cream.
- Cook very slowly until meat is tender, about 1½ hours.
