1 can | Green Chili Peppers - mild (Cut in strips) |
1 dozen | Tortillas (Cut in fourths) |
2 lb. | Grated Cheese (Monterey Jack) |
1 pt. | Sour Cream (for topping) |
Instructions
- Sauté onions and garlic in a quart of fat until clear.
- Add tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer until tomatoes are cooked.
- Add peppers that have been cut into strips.
- Cut tortillas in fourths and dip in hot fat. Remove immediately and drain.
- Put layers of tortillas in a baking dish, layer of sauce, layer of grated cheese. Continue until dish is full.
- Top with grated cheese. Heat until cheese melts.
- Top with sour cream.
