6 TablespoonsSugar
1/2 TeaspoonFlavoring (Vanilla)

Instructions

  1. Beat whites with cream of tartar until frothy.
  2. Gradually beat in sugar, a tablespoon at a time; continue beating until stiff and glossy.
  3. Add Flavoring
  4. Pile meringue onto pie filling, being careful to seal the meringue onto the edge of the crust to prevent shrinking.
  5. Bake at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes.
  6. Cool and serve.
