Instructions
- Beat whites with cream of tartar until frothy.
- Gradually beat in sugar, a tablespoon at a time; continue beating until stiff and glossy.
- Add Flavoring
- Pile meringue onto pie filling, being careful to seal the meringue onto the edge of the crust to prevent shrinking.
- Bake at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Cool and serve.
