TenCampfire Marshmallows (standard size)
One TablespoonWater
Can (Large Size, e.g., 12 oz can)Nestle’s Evaporated Milk
Two CupsSugar
One & Packages (e.g., 6 oz size)Nestle’s Chocolate Bits (Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips)
One CupNut Meats, Chopped (e.g., Walnuts, Pecans)
One TeaspoonVanilla Extract
Pound (One Cube or Cup)Butter

Instructions

  1. 1st Step
    1. In the top of a double boiler, combine ten Campfire marshmallows and one tablespoon of water. Heat and stir until the marshmallows are completely melted. Keep warm.
  2. 2nd Step
    1. In a large saucepan, combine can of large Nestle’s evaporated milk and two cups of sugar.
    2. Bring this mixture to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil for exactly 6 minutes.
  3. 3rd Step
    1. While the milk and sugar mixture is boiling, prepare a large mixing bowl with one and a half packages of Nestle’s chocolate bits, one cup of chopped nut meats, one teaspoon of vanilla, and pound of butter.
    2. Pour the melted marshmallows (from step 1) over the chocolate bits and other ingredients in the mixing bowl.
    3. Then, pour the hot milk and sugar mixture (from step 3) over everything in the mixing bowl.
    4. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed and the chocolate and butter are completely melted and smooth.
    5. Pour the fudge into a butter-greased 8x8 inch dish.
    6. Allow 4 hours in the refrigerator to set.
