1 | Egg White, slightly beaten |
3/4 Cup | Finely Chopped Nuts |
Icing

1 (8 Ounce) Package | Cream Cheese |
1/2 Stick | Oleo (Margarine) |
1 Teaspoon. | Vanilla |
1 Box | Sifted Powdered Sugar |
Instructions
Cookies
- Mix thoroughly Crisco (or butter), egg yolk, brown sugar, and vanilla.
- Stir in flour and salt.
- Roll into 1-inch balls and dip in slightly beaten egg white.
- Roll in finely chopped nuts
- Place 1 inch apart on a baking sheet.
- Press finger into the center of each cookie.
- Bake until set at 350°F. (The original doesn’t give a time, but thumbprint cookies typically bake for 8-12 minutes. Watch them carefully.)
