4 cups | Sugar |
1/8 teaspoon | Salt |
1 cup | Light Corn Syrup |
1 cup | Water |
4 | Egg Whites, Stiffly Beaten |
1/2 cup | Butter |
1 teaspoon | Vanilla |
3 squares | Melted Chocolate (Opt.) |
1 cup | Chopped Nuts (Opt.) |
Instructions
- Combine Sugar, Salt, Syrup & Water; Bring To Boil, Stirring Constantly, Until Sugar Is Dissolved.
- Boil To 262 Degrees On Candy Thermometer.
- Remove From Heat, Pour Slowly Over Egg Whites, Beating With Electric Mixer.
- Continue Beating With Electric Mixer For 5 Min. Mixture Will Be Very Stiff.
- Add Butter, Vanilla, Chocolate & Nuts, Beat By Hand Until Firm.
- Drop By Teaspoonfuls On Waxed Paper.
- Let Stand Until Firm.
- Store In Airtight Container.
