Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Melt cube (4 tablespoons) of margarine in a baking pan (e.g., an 8x8 inch or similar size).
- Add one cup of cut-up peaches to the pan with the melted margarine.
- Sprinkle “some spice” (such as cinnamon or allspice, to taste) over the peaches.
- In a separate bowl, combine one cup of flour, teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of baking powder, one cup of sugar (use less if using canned peaches), and some nutmeg (to taste).
- Stir in cup of milk to form a dough/batter.
- Pour the dough over the peaches in the baking pan.
- Bake at 400°F for about 25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and cooked through.
Note
The amount of sugar can be reduced if using canned peaches. The card mentions adding “some spice” to the peaches.
