Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a pan or pie plate.
- Separate three eggs. Beat the three egg whites until stiff peaks form; set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix together three egg yolks, one cup of sugar, cup of chopped nuts, cup of crushed soda crackers, teaspoon of baking powder, and a dash of salt.
- Gently fold the stiffly beaten egg whites into the yolk mixture.
- Pour the batter into the greased pan or pie plate.
- Bake for hour (30 minutes) at 350°F.
- Cool the torte.
- To serve, spread with tart jam, jelly, whipped cream, or serve with fruit.
