One & CupsSugar

One CupChopped Nuts
Two CupsDiced Apples

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x12x2 inch baking pan well.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the dry ingredients: cup sifted flour, three teaspoons baking powder, teaspoon salt, and one and a half cups sugar.
  3. Add two eggs and three teaspoons of vanilla. Beat the mixture well (the card notes an electric mixer can be used but is not necessary).
  4. Stir in one cup of chopped nuts and two cups of diced apples last.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes. (The card notes the torte “rises and drops” and “has crisp crust”).
  7. Serve warm with ice cream or cream.
