Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x12x2 inch baking pan well.
- In a large bowl, stir together the dry ingredients: cup sifted flour, three teaspoons baking powder, teaspoon salt, and one and a half cups sugar.
- Add two eggs and three teaspoons of vanilla. Beat the mixture well (the card notes an electric mixer can be used but is not necessary).
- Stir in one cup of chopped nuts and two cups of diced apples last.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes. (The card notes the torte “rises and drops” and “has crisp crust”).
- Serve warm with ice cream or cream.
