Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (slow oven).
  2. Mix the first three ingredients ( cup butter, cup brown sugar, and two cups flour) together.
  3. Press this mixture into an ungreased shallow pan (10x15x inch specified on card, though inch depth seems very shallow, likely 10x15x1 or 10x15x2 inch pan is intended).
  4. Bake in the slow oven (325°F) for 25 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven. Immediately sprinkle the chocolate bits over the hot base. Let them sit for a few minutes until they are melted.
  6. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the base.
  7. Sprinkle with cup of chopped nuts.
  8. Cut into 1 & inch wide squares while still warm.
