MeasurementsIngredients
2 CupsSifted Flour
1 TbspBaking Powder
½ TspSoda
½ TspGround Clove
½ TspCinnamon
½ TspNutmeg
1 CupSeedless Raisins
½ CupShortening
1 CupSugar
2Well-beaten Eggs
1 Cup + ¼ CupTomato Soup

Instructions

  1. Sift flour + dry ingredients together.
  2. Wash and cut raisins (roll in a small amount of flour mixture).
  3. Cream shortening - add sugar gradually, then eggs, mixing thoroughly.
    • Add flour mixture alternately with soup.
  4. Stir until smooth.
  5. Fold in raisins.
  6. Pour into 2 greased and floured 8” layer pans.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 35 minutes.
  8. Frost as desired.
