Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (Note: The card warns “Don’t go over this temp as it cooks too fast,” which is contradictory. A lower temperature like 350°F or 375°F might be more typical and safer to prevent burning; adjust based on your oven and preference, or watch very carefully at 425°F).
- Grease an angel food cake pan.
- In a large bowl, beat one box of lemon cake mix, four eggs, and one cup of water (or orange juice) for 4 minutes with an electric mixer.
- When thoroughly blended, add cup of oil and one box (or less, to taste) of poppy seeds.
- Blend these ingredients together with the batter.
- Pour the batter into the greased angel food cake pan.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until evenly browned and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
