1/4 cupCrisco
1Egg
1/2 cupNuts
1/2 cupDates
2Diced Apples
1/2 tspNutmeg
1/4 tspSalt
1/4 tspCinnamon
1 tspBaking Soda
1 cupFlour

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch baking pan.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the sugar, Crisco, egg, nuts, dates, apples, nutmeg, salt, cinnamon, baking soda, and flour. Mix thoroughly. The dough will be very thick.
  3. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour.
  4. Cool and Serve: Let the cake cool in the pan for a few minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely. Serve with whipped cream.
