Recipe

MeasurementsIngredients
1 PackageOreo Cookies (or similar chocolate sandwich cookies)
1 Stick (1/2 Cup)Butter
8 OuncesCream Cheese
1 CupPowdered Sugar (Confectioners’ Sugar)
3 CupsMilk
2 Small PackagesInstant Vanilla Pudding Mix
12 OuncesCool Whip (or other whipped topping), Thawed
For Assembly:
18” Plastic Flower Pot (new and clean)
OptionalSilk Flowers (for decoration)
OptionalGummy Worms (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Crush cookies (in food processor or by hand) until fine.
  2. Cream together 1 stick butter, 8 oz cream cheese, and 1 cup powdered sugar until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix 3 cups milk and 2 small packages of instant vanilla pudding mix according to package directions (typically whisk for 2 minutes). Let it set for a few minutes.
  4. Add the Cool Whip and the prepared pudding to the cream cheese mixture. Mix well.
  5. Layer in the 8” plastic flower pot: Start with a layer of crushed Oreos, then a layer of the cream cheese/pudding mixture. Repeat layers, ensuring the last layer on top is crushed Oreos (to resemble dirt).
  6. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight until well chilled and set.
  7. To serve, garnish with silk flowers and/or gummy worms inserted into the “dirt.” (The recipe card mentions “Serve with shovel” - a small, clean toy shovel or a serving spoon).
