MeasurementsIngredients
1 cupButter, Creamed
2 cupsSugar
4Egg Yolks
1 1/2 teaspoonsVanilla
2 2/3 cupsCake Flour, Sifted
1/2 teaspoonBaking Powder, Sifted
1/2 teaspoonSalt, Sifted
1 cupMilk
4Egg Whites
1/4 teaspoonSalt

Instructions

  1. Cream butter.
  2. Add sugar.
  3. Add egg yolks.
  4. Add vanilla.
  5. Sift together cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Add the dry ingredients alternately to butter and egg mixture with milk.
  7. Beat until stiff 4 egg whites and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  8. Fold whites into batter.
  9. Pour batter into 3 9-inch cake pans that have been oiled and floured.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes.
  11. Cool on rack.
