Measurements	Ingredients
2 cups	Sugar
1 cup	Shortening
1 cup	Buttermilk
4	Egg Yolks
2 1/2 cups	Cake Flour
4	Egg Whites, beaten
1 teaspoon	Soda
1 teaspoon	Vanilla
1 package	German Chocolate dissolved in 1 cup water

Filling

Measurements	Ingredients
3	Egg Yolks
1 cup	Sugar
1 cup	Coconut
1/2 cup	Pecans
1/2 pint	Whipping Cream or lump of butter

Instructions

Cake

1. Dissolve soda in 1/4 cup buttermilk.
2. Beat sugar, shortening, and egg yolks together.
3. Add flour, buttermilk, soda, and chocolate.
4. Beat well.
5. Fold in beaten egg whites.
6. Bake at 350°F.

Filling

1. Mix together and cook until thickened.
